Ceramic melon

This is a ceramic melon, a realistic reproduction of an orange melon or cantaloupe melon. These pieces are made one by one from white Portuguese clay and then painted and glazed in the oven, each piece is different as these are hand processed and handpainted. Each melon ceramic is made individually and differences in shape, size and colour may occur, these are happy accidents. We work with an artisan in the south of Spain near Sevilla who makes these. These pieces are hollow and have a small hole for stability. This piece is bigger than our regular pieces and sturdy, it would be excellent as a single statement piece. These are handmade pieces so each one is unique. The average piece is around 12 x 12 cm or 4.7" x 4.7". Weight is around 400 g or 0.88 pounds.
